Board of Certified Site Safety and Health Officers is a testing and credentialing organization. Military personnel, construction companies and federal agency personnel are required to have a Site Safety Officer on construction sites complying with U.S. Arny Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 regulations. Continuing education, certification, and recognition are all essential for site safety personnel. The CSSHO understands the importance of EM 385-1-1 when they are in a position to facilitate worker injury prevention methods. In addition, the Board of Certified Site Safety and Health Officers maintains an International CSSHO Registry for employers reference. For that purpose, the Board of Certified Site Safety and Health Officers (BCSSHO) was created. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual mandate Site Safety and Health Officer on government construction sites. The size, complexity and hazardous nature of each construction site determine if the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is a full time requirement or can be a shared responsibility with the site Quality Manager. Go to www.bcssho.org and click on Application at the bottom of the page to submit your paperwork for the CSSHO designation.
