Bola Pizza was founded by three members, a husband named Christian, a wife named Jamie and a dog named Bola. Perfect crust was their mission. This goal took several years. Many pies had to be eaten for research. Bola never neglected his duty as canine crust taster.Due to Christian's indefatigable spirit the crust emerged and bi-monthly pizza parties were convened where guests would exclaim that this was the best pizza in Austin. Then, came the questioning. Why exactly weren't we opening a restaurant? Much soul searching commenced. A wood fired pizza oven was purchased. Many options were considered. We thought it would be lovely on a trailer, so there it went. After many more hours of testing and proving, Bola Pizza was born in memory of its official crust tester.The oven is beautiful. It's covered in blue tiles that remind us of Lake Travis at dusk. The orange glow from the 900 degree fire is as intense as a UT home game.
