Our tenants are:1. Get out of the building! Get to know the customers and problem better than anyone by talking with dozens to hundreds of people in the real world. The key is understanding the nuances of people's lives, which you can only uncover by having meaningful dialog with them.2. Drive product vision and strategy. Product vision should be driven by one or a tiny group of founders who have done the research and know their market inside-out allowing them to make decisions quickly. Design by committee leads to extremely long product development cycles and diluted products.3. Focus only on the features that matter. Focus on one to three key features or qualities that solve the customer's' problem better than anyone else in the market. Then build a testable solution in months, rather than trying to make everything perfect.4. Launch quickly and then iterate. It is simply impossible to divine how people will perceive and use a product in the real world. Spend the majority of your energy after launching the MVP. Listen to customers and iteratively improve the product until you reach product-market fit, then look at scale.Boom Factor was founded in 2005 in San Francisco and has worked for clients such as Google, TiVo, Scribd.com, Wells Fargo, Leap Frog, the Judicial Branch of California, Fair Trade USA, and many other wonderful clients.
