International Trade & Development - Colchester, England, United Kingdom
A new micro charity project and set up in July 2016 with the aim of preventing death and injury from poor foot health and sanitation and promoting football in rural African communities: Over 10,000 children a year across the continent die or are incapacitated by infections of the foot or from snake bites. Boots2Africa aims to level the playing field and reduce this by collecting and delivering used children's football boots and distributing them through foundation partners across the African Continent. In Colchester, Tendring, Braintree and south Suffolk alone over 6,000 children play football in the local leagues every weekend of the season; So there's a Demand, and Supply isn't a problem....logistics is the challenge and public support and that of our local clubs is essential to help promote the challenge of collecting, cleaning and getting the boots to their destination. The target for Boots2Africa is 1 million boots delivered by 2030; we know this will not only help reduce infection and illness but it will also help level the playing field too; so through additional supply and access to sport children from African Nations can grow up to not only host and compete in the World Cup but also have a chance of winning it!!Want to get involved, write to us info@boots2africa.co.uk and join us on Facebook and twitter to show your support @boots2africa !You can also donate to our cause and Event sponsorships for all of our fundraising ventures are available and you can donate here: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/boots2africa3 Thanks for your support of Boots2Africa, now tell someone you know about us!Credit and thanks to image holders: AP & Cool online picture.com
