Staff Advisor/Graduate Assistant for Nutrition and Alcohol & Drug Education
The Office of Health Promotion seeks to educate students on the lifelong benefits of maintaining a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle, to empower students to make informed decisions and develop skills that enhance well-being, to foster a campus environment in which students thrive intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically by developing collaborative, cross university relationships and educational outreach guided by our unique Catholic/Jesuit mission.OHP achieves this goal by offering many programs for the development of personal goals and strategies to improve students' health behaviors. This programs include individual health plan appointments, group health coaching sessions, personal nutrition appointments, alcohol and drug conversations, Body Project sessions, and other interactive events.In addition to getting involved with the Office of Health Promotion programs, the student body is a large contributor to the office itself. More than 80 students are trained as Health Coaches, prepared to help their peers manage stress and time, understand and develop healthy friendships, learn and discuss decision-making around alcohol and drugs, and learn about healthy eating and sleep. Additionally, a student staff of five helps with the day-to-day function of OHP!The Office of Health Promotion is truly a resource developed by and for students, and we hope that we will engage with you soon!
