Estate Planning for Human Beings™ If you are like most people, you have been brainwashed into thinking that estate planning is about buying the right document, so that your stuff goes to the right people after you die. I have handled enough probates over the past 30 years to see first-hand the cost - in money, anger and tears - that this kind of thinking causes. So for the past 15 years, I have used a proven process to create estate plans that work. My job is to wake people up to the real issues, and to help them solve the all too human problems that keep most estate plans from working. To do this: ● I teach, speak, and write in plain English. ● I listen to the full range of a client's concerns. ● I let the client be the expert on family issues - in fact, I insist on it. ● I bring 30 years of legal experience to bear in designing a plan to protect the family from creditors, predators and the IRS, while maintaining family harmony. ● After the documents are signed, I continue to work with the client and the family to make sure the plan will continue to work, despite changes in the law, the economy and the family. ● Last but not least, I empower clients to control the cost of the plan through life's predictable, and unpredictable, transitions.
