Non-Profit - Boston, MA, US
The Boston Women's Fund (BWF), launched by activist women at a community meeting 38 years ago, is a leader in supporting community-based grassroots organizations and initiatives led by *women+ and girls with the least access to resources. BWF has invested close to $7 million in 344 grassroots organizations and projects led by women+ and girls+* working to achieve racial, economic, and gender justice in Greater Boston and beyond. Investing in women+ and girls+ is an investment in their families, their communities, and a brighter future for all of us.BWF envisions a world where power, opportunity, and access are not limited by gender. We work to achieve this by advocating for and investing in grassroots organizations and community solutions led by women+ and girls+* to advance racial, economic, social and gender justice in Greater Boston and beyond. BWF is a role model in participatory and trust-based philanthropy, guided by the principle that those closest to the issues have the insight, and knowledge to propose and achieve solutions to challenges facing them, their families and communities.*References to women+ refers to women, girls and people who identify as women, including transwomen, those who identify as femme, nonbinary and/or genderfluid.
