Created in 2015 then re-founded in 2021, the BOWU association aims to transmit the duty of remembrance, in particular of the two world wars, and of bagpipe players of all times, on the front lines to support the courage of the men and women who fought for freedom.The association is mainly focused on the commemorations of the Normandy landings, with a major focus on the Sword Beach area and the memory of the bagpipe player "Bill Millin", represented within the association by his son, John Millin, and his grandson, Jacob Millin, both honorary members.Each year, during the commemorations of June 6, BOWU brings together pipers & drummers, veterans and officials from all countries.
