Let's face it. Musicians suck at marketing. There's a reason why your brother's band is stuck playing at the local bar on Wednesday nights. Perhaps none of your friends have heard of your favorite artist (you hipster, you!). Well, maybe not, but we like to believe that people enjoy exploring music, regardless of its popularity at that specific point in time. It's no coincidence that music festivals are so popular. Live music has become cool. Even big coorportations like Budwiser sponsor a music festival, if that says anything. However, consumers avoid purchasing music whenever possible. Have digitial distributors gone too far? Big corporations thrive off that $1.29 song purchase, taking $0.45 right off the top, and who suffers? Artists and fans. Radiohead pioneered direct Artist to Fan distribution in 2007 with the release of In Rainbows. We hope to continue the legacy that they started. While we don't mandate that artists allow fans to name a price for their work, it is highly recommended. We're all about options, so please, set your pricing as you like. We're not simply here to be yet another (potentially less evil) download provider. We believe in independent artists. We believe in your brother's band that plays at the dive bar. We may have even been there. However, we believe that artists can do better than that. We hope to offer a platform, by musicians, for musicians. We are true music fanatics, and our one goal is to make music better!
