Nonprofit Organization Management - Bullhead City, Arizona, United States
Mission: "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens."The Club offers developmental activities for children ages 6-18, primarily from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our Bullhead City and Laughlin branches each run an After School Program and a Summer Day Camp. The majority of our nearly 1,000 members attend the Bullhead City branch, where our administrative offices are also housed. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River have served the youth of the Tri-State area since receiving our national charter in 1988. We originally opened as the Kiwanis Youth Center in 1987.The Laughlin Club opened in the mid-1990's and is housed inside the Spirit Mountain Activity Center. Our Bullhead City branch still features a Games Room, Activity Room, Education Center, Arts & Crafts Center, a full service kitchen and The Club Teen Center. The latter was made possible in 2013, when our Club was one of 11 in the country to receive the nationally acclaimed Maytag Dependability Award. The Bullhead City branch is also compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and has undergone two renovations (in 2011 and 2012) made possible by just over $160,000 in grant funding.
