Brandwacht Game Reserve is nestled between the picturesque Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean. Hills dressed in pristine fynbos, thicket covered valleys, and endangered Renosterveld flats all form part of a regenerated ecosystem rich in abundant diversity and a wide range of Fauna and Flora.The Reserve was established in 2018, to rewild previous farmland and regenerate the previous existing ecosystems. We are in the process of accomplishing this rewilding by:• Reintroducing wildlife species• Rehabilitating previous croplands• Removing alien plant species• Funding through sustainable tourism o In 2018, Garden Route Safari Camp opened its door to our first guests, allowing us to generate funds through sustainable eco-tourism for our conservation efforts.o In February 2022 our new Rhino Plains luxury family accommodation will be operational.• Combining conservation and community upliftmento Job Creationo School field trips for the children of Brandwacht Communityo Nature Guide Training School established in 2021• Conducting research and collecting data• Establishment of our first white rhino introduction initiativeo First successful White Rhino Introduction in May 2021o First two Rangers trained and employed• Establishing Brandwacht Conservation Foundation in 2022.o Sponsor Rhino and Rangero Focused on funding a Rhino introduction with its protection whilst training and employing a rangerOur 5-year Rewilding Plan• Obtain a critical land mass• Allow for natural and assisted Rewilding• Continual effort to conserve Renosterveld• Introduce historic endemic wildlife • Increase job and training opportunities to the Community of Brandwacht• Increase community upliftment involvement• Establish in-house APU (Anti-Poaching Unit) Training Facility• Establish in house Nature Guide Training Facility• Put into full effect Brandwacht Conservation Foundation• Set in motion the Black Rhino Introduction Project
