BrasilCine is the only Brazilian Film Festival taking place in Scandinavia. It is organized by the non-profit organization FSBK – Förening för Svensk & Brasiliansk kultur. BrasilCine's main goal is to promote the diversity of Brazilian Culture through the lenses of the much rich contemporary and independent film industry in Brazil.BrasilCine aims to portray an image of Brazilian society that differs from the common stereotypes usually associated with Brazil, by offering an array of movies which not only addresses different themes but are also produced in different regions of the country.BRASILCINE – THE FESTIVALBrasilCine screens fiction (feature, media and short), as well as documentary films. Along with the Festival, music shows, performances, seminars and lectures with guests from Brazil and Sweden are also offered.BrasilCine was created in 2005 in the city of Gothenburg. The demand for Brazilian films was intense and, in the following year, Stockholm became part of it. Since then, BrasilCine has Zita Theater as its main venue.The year of 2013 has become an important turning point for BrasilCine. The Brazilian Film Production Company REC became BrazilCine's partner and co-producer.
