Constructed in the 1940s and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre is one of the world's few surviving examples of early twentieth-century theatre. The Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre Association, a 501 (c)(3) organization incorporated in 2000, manages programming, operations, and preservation of the theatre.For nearly two decades, the historic Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre has brought culture and the arts to the Hill Country. Year after year, we strive to raise the bar in entertainment through diverse programming and artistic opportunities. The historic Brauntex Theatre's neon marquee is the flagship of the growing downtown business district and thriving arts community of New Braunfels. Many local arts organizations call the Brauntex Theatre "home." They present programs, recitals, musicals and concerts for all ages. In addition, the Brauntex has a thriving and effective arts education and outreach program, expertly delivering opportunities to children.
