Breaking Bread is a conversation series that assembles diverse identities to explore multi-vocal perspectives on controversial topics. The first installment of Breaking Bread discusses the Black Lives Matter movement, with the intention to capture different viewpoints of the movement's purpose, impact, and legacy. Differing opinions are by no means in short supply, but given the current nature of social and political discourse, it often feels that the mutual respect needed to exchange perspectives in a receptive way is. Through careful participant selection and unique conversation facilitation, Breaking Bread seeks to emphasize the empathy necessary to engage others and to learn about their viewpoints. Sessions will take place in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area in Spring 2021.
