Breaking Bread Journeys, established in 2013, is a joint Israeli-Palestinian experiential tourism initiative created by Elisa Moed and Christina Samara, two long standing tour operators, in cooperation with USAID. The project's goal is to foster tourism by offering unique, off-the-beaten-path tour programs that delve into Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Every Breaking Bread Journey includes daily opportunities for participants to meet locals and experience their diverse cultures first hand in a low impact, sustainable manner. Programs are small and themes focus on food, culture, history and pilgrimage.
