Brookview School is an independent non-profit school serving children from infancy through middle school. For over 35 years, families in Southwest Michigan have found the Brookview School community to be a place where nurturing teachers and parents work together to inspire internally-motivated, inquisitive children. Brookview School emphasizes the arts, Spanish, environmental stewardship and diversity, all of which are integrated into the Montessori curriculum to provide an educational experience unlike any other in the area. The school and ten-acre campus offer one-of-a-kind opportunities for children to become independent learners who appreciate and understand their world. Our campus includes woods, wetlands, prairie, a small animal farm and organic vegetable garden- all of which provide ample opportunities for outdoor experiential learning. Studies show that outdoor experiences increase capacity for creativity and problem solving as well as emotional and intellectual development. Brookview students are continually exposed to foreign cultures, languages and ideas. With 19 countries represented in the student body, students interact regularly with children from a variety of cultures. The Montessori method encourages problem solving by allowing children to ask questions, explore alternative answers, and find solutions to problems with hands-on learning experiences. The Brookview curriculum develops independence, responsibility, creativity, and respect.
