Diana Low (MBA(McGill), Dip. Ed. B.Sc. (Hons)) founded the Brossard Chinese School in 1991 with Maili Lo, Wang Ai Hua, Cheng Chi Kuang, Jane Li, and Mr. Tian who were all dedicated and passionate in the promotion of overseas Chinese language and culture education.Mrs. Low with her diverse education has worked in small businesses and Fortune 500 companies in Montreal. In addition, her experience in teaching at McGill University, Champlain College and other private colleges has given her great insights into the requirements for tertiary education. This has prompted the establishment of tutorial services especially in English to help students to lay a sound foundation in this important international language, required for business and scientific research.In addition to language, culture plays an important role in communications. When doing business, your counterpart will be more impressed if you know the culture in addition to the language. For Chinese children, one should enjoy the rich Chinese heritage of 5,00 years e.g. to learn its history. Busy working parents do not have time to search for cultural teachers to learn the culture. Therefore the cultural program is integrated into the 12 year curriculum where parents do not have to find the relevant teacher and materials e.g. in calligraphy.When bringing up her two children, Mrs. Low had great difficulties finding a suitable place for her children to keep active and stay in touch with their school work during the long summer holidays. Having brought up 2 children, she understands the need to optimize the learning opportunities of children during the idle summer hours. Academie Horizon, a multilingual summer camp fulfills her dream of a service where working parents can have a place for their children to go to reinforce their skills in different subjects like English, French, Chinese and Maths. For those who do not need full days of activities, individual subjects can be selected for summer learning.
