Music - Athens, Georgia, United States
Musicians From Athens, Ga. Brett Stewart and Adam Trufant are 'brotherbrother'. Brett and Adam began playing together as little kids. Not playing music, just playing together; they had bonded into best friends before either picked up a guitar. Their first venture into music was a band called Virtual Weasel. They weren't very good, but who is in ninth grade? More to the point—from then on Brett and Adam were more than friends in a Rock and Roll Band; they were brothers in the music. Next came Courtesy of Bob. It was a little better, and, gradually, throughout high school, they became more and more serious about playing music together. They listened to the Beatles and Jimi and Clapton; they dreamt of becoming guitar gods. But for all that, the focus was on having fun – and still is. As Brett and Adam became better musicians, they also became tighter at singing, harmonizing, and writing together. They soon realized that people enjoyed listening to what they did for fun. People wanted to hear them, to hire them to play. They spread a good vibe; their light-hearted and energetic dispositions are genuinely manifest in their music. Which is not to say that their music is light-hearted fluff; on the contrary, the emotion with which they write is genuine. They really feel this stuff. Now Brett and Adam are brotherbrother—two goofy brothers—but they're goofy brothers on a mission. Their chemistry is palpable; the sum is much greater than the parts: dynamic, infectious, upbeat. Call it whatever you want—groovin' acoustic electric pop rock soul music—whatever. These guys can play and sing, and they're going to do it whether anyone else listens or not. But its highly recommended…look for brotherbrother on a stage near you.
