Brown Girl Voices is a digital, creative space that gives South Asian womxn a platform to express themselves through their art. We started BGV because we believe brown girls are creatively inclined and can use a space like this to express themselves. We believe in connecting communities through writing. All our creative outlets are produced by brown womxn for the greater community.Note: "Brown" is usually used to group together South Asian womxn from countries including Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Maldives. However, we are extending the definition of "Brown" to those who self-identify as "Brown" in order to reclaim the word.
