The number 1 cause of "skunky" beer is beer which has been exposed to natural, visible light. For years, this problem has been solved by packaging it in a unique shade of amber brown which effectively blocks out the negative effects of light exposure. As the popularity of drinking outdoors on patios has risen, there has been present a significant gap in the delivery of beer. While, for the most part, brown bottles still prevail, nearly 100% of glassware designed for beer is in the form of clear glass.
