Serving over 60 adults and over 60 families living on the Bruce Peninsula, BPACL supports people who have intellectual disabilities to participate and contribute fully in their communities and to become all that they can be. It is our hope that the supports we provide enable people to live their best lives. Typically, support is provided through 5 core programs:1. BPACL's Community Participation program supports people to participate in meaningful activities within their communities. 2. 24 hour support is provided through the Residential Program, including assistance with the activities of daily life, facilitating independence, and encouraging community involvement. 3. The Supported Independent Living program provides supports to people who live on their own in the community, in the areas of: Support planning, Goals, Recreation and Leisure, Housing and Financial Support, Medical Support, and Skill Development. 4. Our Enhanced Supported Independent Living Program provides supports to people who live on their own, but require additional supports. 5. Families living across the Bruce Peninsula, who care for loved ones with intellectual disabilities, receive support through our Family Support Services Program, which provides assistance through solution-focused planning services, referrals/connections to other service providers, and assistance as required with application processes. Each of BPACL's programs focus on connecting people to their communities, helping people to build their skills, facilitating independence, supporting the accomplishment of goals, and promoting the overall health and well-being of each person supported.
