The Bruges Waffles & Frites fast-casual restaurant franchise began when Belgium natives Pierre Vandamme and Philippe Wyffels met in Salt Lake City, Utah, and spent time reminiscing about the authentic flavors of Belgian cuisine. They lamented how hard it seemed to find authentic Belgian flavors among all the prepackaged, mass-produced options. It was then that the two set out to recreate the famous Liège waffle they remembered from their youth.Once they achieved success, they wanted to share the experience they remembered, so they began with the first Bruges waffle cart and made appearances around town and at area farmers markets. Locals quickly fell in love with the intoxicating aromas, friendly service and unique flavors, and the menu began to expand. Shortly after the restaurant opened its first indoor location, Bruges Waffles & Frites was featured on Man V. Food and recognized on the Best Restaurants of Salt Lake City list. As the ranks of our many fans continue to grow, our business is expanding as well. We have family-owned stores throughout Utah, and are currently offering franchise restaurants for sale in key cities in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, and Oregon.
