Established in 2009, BSF Asia is a non-government organisation (NGO) that improves the lives of persons with disabilities by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace.A truly unique and life changing foundation originating in Bali, the foundation has grown to become active in Malaysia, Timor-Leste, Singapore, Cambodia and Australia. It has also introduced and developed para-sports enabling athletes to compete at the paralympics and various international competitions. By developing safe and supportive sports environments that can provide disabled youth with a place in which they are treated with dignity enables participants to:📌 Develop new skills, form friendships, receive and give peer support & enhance social networks📌 Receive mentoring support from trusted adults, who can serve as youth advocates📌 Take advantage of new learning and educational opportunities📌 Receive high level training through volunteer coaches and mentors in adaptive sports📌 Access train the trainers programs for the disabled sports centresHaving incubated a number of sports federations in SE Asia, BSF Asia runs on average 8-10 sports events a year across multiple countries and works with a number of universities in Europe, Australia and the United Kingdom in providing internships, volunteer placements, schooling and reports. BSF Asia also works with various companies and collaborators to introduce sports for persons with disabilities as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
