BSK Productions, short for Basic Street Knowledge Productions, began in the freshman dorm room of a Taiwanese college student in 2009. Brought up on hip hop and a love for the arts, Brent "Basik" Lee dabbled in DJing, event promoting, drawing, and of course film. Through years of dedication and a "do what you gotta do" mindset, Brent found his way into the local hip hop scene and has since been expanding his works to music videos and short film. In the past seven years and running, it's been an underdog story of self-reliance and building something from nothing.Yet, it couldn't stay a one-man show, and nothing great was ever achieved alone. Recently, BSK Productions has become a merry band of ambitious, like-minded individuals who all contribute an essential part to what it is today. With scholars from University of California, Berkeley and New York University, Tisch School of the Arts taking on executive roles, BSK is in the process of branching out into various divisions, with film and talent management currently being the main focus. In the upcoming years, BSK seeks to create increasingly bigger and better works, and to establish a greater international presence.Our work is to provide visuals to the abstract. Operating on the belief that ideas ought to be shown, not explained, we are craftsmen – writing stories, painting pictures, and building a shared dream are what we do. We work behind the scenes as the creators of what is seen.
