BSS Additive is an early stage company helping manufacturers integrate technologies to enable them to convert machine shop chip & turning wastes into metal powders for use in production level 3D Printing. BSS is a graduate of the 2016-17 Valley Venture Mentors Manufacturing Accelerator, a 2017 Mass Challenge Pitch Finalist, and the recipient of a $50k Massachusetts Development Innovation Grant to explore applications for recycled alloyed powders in hybrid 3D Printing.In 2018, BSS Additive validated applications of its technology by successfully printing up-cycled 304 stainless steel in two widely used commercial DED & Hybrid DMLS 3D printing systems, with help from the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Hartford and the University of Massachusetts, AmherstBSS team members are graduates of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and have received extensive advisory support from the following organizations: 2018 Valley Venture Mentors / GAN Startup Accelerator, Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship, Isenberg School of Management, Massachusetts SBDC, MA Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Mass Technology Collaborative, and numerous private and public companies.
