In September 2021, after 15 years as a Municipal Planner working in local government, Liz opened her own planning practice, Buckton Consulting Inc., in Meaford, Ontario. Liz continues to find herself inspired daily by the strong civic values that underpin the planning profession and by the rich community & professional relationships she has cultivated within the Southern Georgian Bay region and beyond. Liz believes that Planners are at a nexus of local government and community change: integrating multi-disciplinary inputs across departments & organizations; working to define and serve the public interest; and crafting great policy and strong, well-informed recommendations to local decision-makers. Liz is excited to bring her professional skills and public servant ethos to her private practice, serving the Grey, Bruce and Owen Sound areas.
