Government Administration - Budapest, Budapest, Hungary
Budapest City Diplomacy is the foreign affairs unit of Budapest City Hall. With a staff of 9, we work to advance the Hungarian capital city's international relations and implement green mayor Gergely Karácsony's foreign policy program. Our main action areas include lobbying the European institutions for sustainbility-related EU-funds for local governments, pro-active participation in progressive city alliances, and advancing Budapest's sister-city relations. Together with Bratislava, Prague and Warsaw, we formed the Pact of Free Cities city network that advocates for liberal, progressive values and urban policies in Central and Eastern Europe. We believe that cities and local governments are key to participatory democracy and climate action, and we strive to ensure positive outcomes for city, continent and planet alike.
