Buddies Without Borders (BWB) is an initiative by Concerned Pakistani Americans to spread awareness about the dire flood disaster in Pakistan and the need to continue to help the needy through the collective power of children. The essence behind the initiative is that children are not bound by borders, cultures, religion and language. They are simply children and when they see other children, they only think of them as children. To mobilize the elementary, middle and high school children of Pakistani descent to create awareness within their respective schools through education and other events with the eventual goal of collecting money from schools to send to affected and needy children in Pakistan. The first step is to train the Pakistani American community on how to create awareness in schools. Training collateral includes, brochures and Video DVD containing images of the disaster along with a music video featuring local Pakistani American children.Children will be trained on how to engage other children in their schools and will be handed out materials to take to their school along with ideas on what they can do to create awareness and raise funds for the cause. Parents will be encouraged to work with their children in the schools. In addition, they will be free to send the donated funds to the charity of their choice that is working in Pakistan for the flood relief.
