Building Bridges is a nonprofit organization based in the greater Indianapolis area. With a primary focus on community outreach and leadership development, the organization provides funding and resources for underserved youth programs and offers a Leadership Academy Scholarship for students. The group was founded in 2014 by Paul Holmer, Jake Nantz, Keith Suttle, and Steve Suttle. Fundraising and Hub-for-Helping Initiative Fundraising Building Bridges aims to make fundraising one of its primary functions, using its vast and growing network to help raise money for those in need. The group held its first charity event, "A Celebration of Voice," in July of 2014, and donated proceeds to Advanced Therapeutic Solutions, a psychology group that hosts an "Adventure Camp" for children with social anxiety disorders. In September of 2015, Building Bridges will host the first annual "Iron Sharpens Iron Classic," a charity golf event, at The Trophy Club in Lebanon, Indiana. Hub-for-Helping To expand its outreach, Building Bridges offers a "Nominate-a-Cause" function on its website, buildingbridgesgroup.com. The nomination system allows anyone to suggest a cause for Building Bridges to serve, making the site a "hub-for-helping" where anyone can seek assistance. Program Development The organization's co-founders have a diverse background of field experience, and aim to develop programs that cultivate in young people an interest in education and a thirst for self-betterment. With a belief that the skills needed for lifelong success can be taught through many avenues, Building Bridges aims to create outreach initiatives that serve an array of community resources.
