Architecture & Planning - Builth Wells, Wales, United Kingdom
Your house. Your history. What's your story? Heritage Consultants covering Wales, the Borders, West Midlands and South-East.Building Histories was established to offer a positive, pragmatic and creative heritage consultancy. The company's ethos of providing well informed schemes is founded on a background of building surveying and conservation. Rowanne West BSc (Hons) has a first class honours degree in Building Surveying and won the RICS Prize for Best Dissertation. After graduating, she worked in a private conservation practice, dividing her time between hands on traditional craft skills and surveying work, followed by almost a decade as a Conservation Officer. This has created a consultancy grounded in conservation philosphy while sensitive to the challenges of living in and working with historic buildings. Committed to imaginative solutions, Building Histories has the technical expertise to engage with professionals covering all aspects of heritage repair, alteration and development. She has always lived in historic houses, from medieval to Edwardian and understands the joys and challenges of being an owner. "The heritage statement submitted with the application is to be commended - it is very thorough and demonstrates a good level of research and subsequent appropriate assessment of heritage significance as well as wider historic landscape considerations." Debbie Maltby, Conservation Officer, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council "Very professional, delivering work within the programme, cooperating with all members of a project team to produce excellent results. Building Histories has added a depth of knowledge to the projects we have collaborated on, which exceeds our expectations. Building Histories has proved invaluable in helping secure a consent." Peter Hulbert RIBA, Architect
