The story of Bult Fleet Solutions begins at MBI, the largest provider of long haul waste transportation in North America with over 2500 trailers of various types (tipper, walking floor, dump, van, flat bed, low boy and intermodal). MBI desired to reduce their cost per mile, specifically their tire related costs. Driving through landfills, transfer stations, and dumps is very hard on tires. After carefully examining their options it was clear their best solution was to retrofit automatic tire inflation systems on all of their 2500 trailers. MBI chose Meritor Tire Inflation Systems by PSI. The system built by PSI was chosen for its proven track record, simple rugged design, and ease to retrofit. Despite the retrofit superiority of PSI, this would be no easy task considering they operate virtually 24 hours per day and park at over 100 locations nationwide. Like so many fleets they do not have the extra manpower on hand to dedicate to a project of this magnitude. MBI hired Bult Fleet Solutions. With dedicated full time technicians operating out of a fully mobile work station we were able to retrofit all 2500 trailers in one year. According to MBI, this project more than paid for itself in savings within one year of completion. Mission accomplished.
