Bumas Karaman Bulgur Industry and Trade Joint Stock Company, has been established by some entrepreneurs, who were producing bulgur with primitive methods with the idea of production during twelve months of the year in a closed system in Karaman in 1968. the company has been established in 1971 for the implementation of the project to produce bulgur in a quick, healthy and hygienic environment. The production and assembly of mechanical parts of Bumas had been performed by Bühler-MIAG joint venture group, which one the world's leading groups in grain products technology. Bumas Bulgur has produced bulgur in an hygienic environment and untouched by humanhads for the first time in the world and Turkey. The company produces bulgur without interruption since 1976, and provides high-quality healthy hygiene products. Bumas has certified and clinched its quality as a pioneer in Turkey. For the first time in Turkey, the company has been granted TSE Certificate of Quality and Conformity on bulgur production, and is prod of having this for years. The company has never made concessions of producing quality and healthy products and continuously improved the quality during the last years.In 2002 the company established ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 22000 HACCP in the Food Safety Management System has been certified by the TÜV-SÜD company in 2008. Bumas continues its commercial activities as an organisation with modern production technology that is developed by the entrepreneurs of Karaman by investing their sources, courage and creativity and totally their own capital. While it was producing only 2 types of bulgur at the beginning, the company has started producing the bulgur for pilav in tree types, namely, fine, medium and coarse and also the bulgur for meatballs as for meatballs and raw meatballs (fine).
