The Burkhart Research Institute for Orthopaedics (BRIO) is an independent, non-profit 501(c)3 that serves as an academic research center as well as a clinical research site conducting industry research. This Institute allows physician researchers to address clinical questions and concerns through an innovative research approach that serves patients by offering the latest in cutting edge technology.BRIO, working in conjunction with orthopaedic surgeons at TSAOG Orthopaedics, collects data regarding the treatments and outcomes of orthopaedic patients in order to develop and evaluate advancing technologies, reduce healthcare costs, develop protocols to minimize invasive intervention, and improve patient outcomes.The Institute regularly hosts national and international specialists to share their expertise and teach the latest techniques in orthopaedic surgery. BRIO also works to increase community awareness of how to prevent and manage musculoskeletal conditions, including chronic maladies such as arthritis and back pain.BRIO is funded by support from the physicians of TSAOG Orthopaedics and philanthropic contributions from individuals and corporations.
