Burrow allows you to expose your localhost to the internet without any firewall or router setup. It does it by forwarding requests sent to a generated address through a secure tunnel directly to your computer. It is an awesome tool for DevOps, Devs and Webdesigners, because it allows you to: - Access your machine via SSH behind firewalls. - Instantly connect to a remote computer behind a firewall/router via VNC without having to setup port forwarding. - Open your local MySQL to the internet. - Test your APIs on mobile devices without having to deploy code. - Receive 3rd party webhooks (ie. Stripe, Github, etc) directly on your localhost. - Develop and test Facebook apps in your own environment. - Share localhost while remote pair programming. - Show your work to clients or co-workers directly off your computer. No more FTP! - Check how your design looks on other devices. - Test your UI in cloud browsers. I built Burrow to solve a problem I had as a developer. Since I decided to put it online, I got 150 users (May 28th 2015), 4 of them are paying customers, and at least 15 of them are active in the platform everyday. The only marketing I did was to tell people about it in person and on twitter, and 15 bucks on Facebook ads.
