BusaBuntu Pictures (BBP) is a disruptive media company founded by South African Social and Creative Entrepreneur, BusaBuntu, who is one of few Qualified Creative Economists in the world.BBP uses a diverse set of creative skills to develop stories from an African Perspective whilst exploiting socially impactful digital platforms and products that share and connect with multi-cultural audiences, innovate the processes and outcomes of storytelling and make the seemingly impossible visually possible. Established in London, UK in 2012 the Black female led company produced several short films most prominent was IZULU (2013) which was showcased at the Cannes Short Film Corner (2014) and in competition at DIFF (2014) and the Joburg Film Festival (2014). Currently BBP is in pre-production with African Dreams, the first mocku-series to star a female protagonist of African Ethnicity in global television history slated to air on the 9th of August 2021 on SABC 1. BBP is also working with Spier Films in producing the Nosipho Dumisa directed Brenda Fassie biopic slated for release in the Summer of 2022.
