Our Mission:BOSS strives to connect Lakehead students to surrounding businesses while developing a community inside the university; as well as providing the opportunity to network internally and externally while gaining real-world applications and matching human capital to business needs. What BOSS values:Networking•Communicating with local professionals to build lasting relationships •Linking the Orillia community with the Lakehead student community to promote future partnerships by offering our students to help with companies desired needs (i.e. marketing, accounting, human resources, promotions, public relations) •Giving opportunities for students to get involved with real-world experiences and increase human capitalDevelopment and Growth•Building a society for the betterment of the community and its students within it•Innovation for the future •Opportunities for students to work externally and to bridge the gap between post-secondary education and the workplacePromoting Local Businesses •We support the local Orillia economy and the businesses within the surrounding area•We strive to acquire all of our promotional materials via local businesses •We strive for economic development and sustainability through the creation of local employment opportunities within the community.
