Bustle is an event-based social network that serves to increase the interconnectedness in a community. Through a click of a button a user can either update his/her current status prior to engaging in an activity or join an updated activity or event. Instead of quantifying followers like instagram or snaps like snapchat, bustle quantifies interactions between people through a community score that can be increased through engagement in these spontaneous activities near the user.We are trying to solve the problem of coupling human interactions with spontaneity. We want to connect the organizations on Berkeley's campus, as well as the people on Berkeley's campus through spontaneous updates on a platform that will serve as an aggregator for events and activities since each update will be posted on the user's Facebook and Twitter accounts as well. Through seamless integration with Facebook and twitter Bustle will be the campus event app that also allows the organization of specific groups and the ability to see what everyone is doing at the moment in that specific group via the interactive map. There is no other platform that allows spontaneous updates to be posted regarding activities and club events that can be seen on an interactive map. Also, clubs and organizations on campus will be able to leverage the Bustle network, as well as, their facebook and twitter followers with every spontaneous event that is posted so if a club is throwing a donut fundraiser, they can market to everyone around them, not just students, which is the incentive they have to post on Bustle.
