2007, summer in Stockholm, Sweden After back and forth coordination with the Swedish organisation Tillväxtverket, we hear good news. They agree to partially fund the project to bring up a state-of-art facility to manufacture leather goods and accessories in a sprawling port city called Chennai, in southern India.Once the funding was arranged, there was no looking back…The infrastructural set-up, manpower and management activities raced along with acquiring the technical know-how and machinery necessary to quickly meet the vision of a modern leather goods factory in India. 2008, heart of Chennai CityCompany formation procedures were fulfilled and the organisation found a name. Butler Leather Goods Factory India Private Limited was incorporated with the aim of becoming an upscale workshop specializing in high quality production of leather products. Early 2009:The factory received its first consignment of machinery from Sweden. Both classic and advanced machinery were procured in compliance with international standards of quality. The factory began its operations with just 5 workers, 3 work tables and the first order of just 60 pcs was shipped out successfully in December 2009. And thereafter the frequency of shipments increased and so has the volumes. 2010:By the end of next year, we had increased our output by 100 times.
