Butler University Dance Marathon (aka BUDM) is 12-hour dance marathon that happens every February on Butler University's campus. BUDM is centered around raising money and spreading awareness for pediatric care. Founded in 2003, BUDM is held in honor of Sarah Michelle Cohen each year and has raised $2.7 million for Riley Hospital for Children since then.BUDM is directed by a 39 member executive team. Participants of BUDM can join as an individual dancer or as a member of one of 17 committees. Members at all levels of the organization work throughout the school year putting on fundraising events, spreading awareness, and preparing for the day of marathon. BUDM 2021, despite the COVID pandemic, had 373 participants (123 committee members) and raised $278,693.01 for Riley Hospital for Children.
