Animation - N/A, N/A, N/A
I got into this graphic art thing quite by accident, at Drexel U. while studying physics/engineering... (actually thanks to Prof. Eric Scheidly). I taught myself Quark XPress in '93, went on from there into Photoshop, Illustrator & PageMaker (yuck!!). A few years later, after getting into web design (GoLive), Jon Pinkett got me into Macromedia Flash. From there, I followed him into Motion Graphics.Meanwhile, I moved from Terry Johnson's Fly Communications (THE REAL NEWS & THE BUSINESS REVIEW) in 1999, to THE PHILADELPHIA NEW OBSERVER, until 2006, when they went out of business. I landed on my feet at THE PHILADELPHIA TRIBUNE, that year. I stayed with them until 2009. After leaving, I found the courage to embark on the free lance/entrepreneur thing.I started the Buttermilk Art Works in 1995, and although I don't make a lot of money (yet), it is my professional identity. A friend and former Veterans' Upward Bound classmate, Earl Weeks began THE INTERFACE, an online publication in 1997 and ran it until 2002. That was fun and I long to get it stared again (sigh)I've done some writing (journalism and sci-fi) over the years, and have some skill as a photographer. The art thing started in the Military. Mostly doing portraits and covering my walls with sketches of the centerfold girls in PLAYERS Magazine.
