Byron Shire Respite Service (BSRS) is a small NGO based in Brunswick Heads that provides aged and disability care to senior residents and specializes in dementia care. started its 30 year history by a small group of volunteers providing day respite out of a small church hall in Ocean Shores NSW. Shortly their successful start, government funding was secured and with assistance of Byron Shire Council the Brunswick Valley Community Centre was built and we have been operating there for 29 years. BSRS has been practicing person centred care before it was even a phrase. At the heart of everything we do is the person, staff, volunteers, clients and their family all included. BSRS is a service of choice and an employer of choice in the region. BSRS offers Centre Based Day Respite, In-home support, Community Access, Social Group Opportunities. BSRS has a long history and extensive experience providing Dementia Specific care and respite for the carer.
