Right now, around 71% of the Earth's surface is covered with water. Only 2.5% of that is fresh water. And 0,62% of that is potentially consumable.\\This means that of all the water that is exposed on Earth's surface, only 0,44% is potentially consumable, and that tiny portion is exposed to pollution clusters that jeopardize the integrity of those water sources. Form poor or nonexistent sewage treatment to lackluster urban planning, the consumption of clean water is not guaranteed for the vast majority of world population. Only 16% of the world's nations fulfill basic sanitation requirements for their population, and 3,2 million deaths can be attributed to unsanitary water consumption every year. This is even without considering the impact of this same issue in other species and whole ecosystems\So, we at Böle decided to tackle this issue with crowd testing water sources in an immediate and reliable way. There are a lot of researchers out there that can work with this, but there are even more regular people that can be benefited and will be interested in diagnosing water sources near them, and that is where the solution lies. To do this we developed an app and are developing a companion device that can take measurments of vital information form a water soruce, just using a couple drops of it. Things like pH, e coli, clorine levels and turbidity can be measured by this device and be immediately reported to the app and uploaded to make a global profile of the potentially usable water sources. This information will then be made available to governments, industries and individuals through a site, and we can make projections of ways to decrease water stress from already used water sources, better water sourcing distribution and water source recovery.
