Luxury Goods & Jewelry - Freienbach, Canton of Schwyz, Switzerland
BĒARD was founded in 1888 by Noel Béard as a small distributor of chinaware and glassware to hotel establishments in Switzerland. In 1906, to capitalize on the boom in the Swiss hospitality industry, Henri Béard (son of founder) expanded the family business to also include the manufacturing of high quality hollowware targeting the growing hotel chains in Switzerland. The boom in the hotel business assisted the company to grow rapidly, introducing new technology to the business and thus enhancing the quality of its products. By 1944, the company was transformed from a small manufacturing facility into a shareholding public company under the name BĒARD S.A. In the late 1950s, BĒARD pursued an aggressive export strategy, quickly becoming the brand of choice for large global chains such as the Intercontinental, Sheraton and Oberoi. The BĒARD brand became synonymous with the highest quality and cemented its position as the leading high-end manufacturer and distributor of silver-plated tableware.Today, under new leadership, the BĒARD brand is witnessing an aggressive revival through global manufacturing and distribution networks designed to once again elevate it to its pre-eminent position in high-end tableware.
