The California Immigrant Resilience Fund (CIRF) provides cash assistance to undocumented Californians experiencing extreme economic hardship as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. CIRF focuses on underserved and hard-to-reach immigrants, including Black, Indigenous, LGBTQI, and Asian Pacific Islander immigrants. To date, CIRF has disbursed over $43 million and leveraged another $4 million that went directly to local organizations. With a $25 million gift from MacKenzie Scott in December 2019, CIRF will provide additional rounds of urgently needed cash relief in early 2021.Committed to racial, economic, and social justice, CIRF distributes cash relief through 60 local partner organizations that share our values and that have long standing relationships with diverse immigrant communities across the state.Beyond pandemic response, CIRF provides a long-term infrastructure and statewide network that can be quickly mobilized to address future crises and opportunities impacting vulnerable immigrant families and communities. CIRF was initially set up as part of a public-private partnership with the State of California. The separate state-financed immigrant relief fund, the first of its kind in the nation, distributed $75 million to 150,000 families.
