CNU's Clinical Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) Program has been carefully constructed to provide students with the guidance, support, and exemplary training required to excel as professional psychologists. We believe strongly in fostering a graduate culture with high student engagement, individualized attention, inter-professional collaboration, and rigorous academics. Our innovative program offers smaller class sizes, lower student-to-faculty ratios, and no required weekend, evening, or summer classes. All class sections are taught on-site, where students benefit from inter-professional exposure and collaboration with students and faculty from CNU's MD and PharmD Programs. Among the unique aspects of our Psy.D. Program: - a unique practicum preparation clinic featuring standardized patients (actors), allowing students to build a repertoire of basic clinical skills under the direct supervision of clinical faculty. - quarterly meetings with an assigned faculty academic adviser to ensure continued progress toward academic and professional goals.- a year-long Lerdership in Health Professions seminar attended by students from the Psy.D., M.D., and Pharm.D. Programs, granting students a head start in forming working relationships that will serve them well in the professional world.- reduced course loads in Year 4 to assist in internship application and dissertation completion. Our curriculum is specifically designed to provide students with the discipline specific knowledge and profession-wide competencies outlined by the American Psychological Association (APA). Course series include Human Diversity, Foundations of Behavior, Assessment, Interventions, Psychometrics and Research Design, Dissertation Seminar, and Internship Preparation. We are accepting applications for Fall 2018 enrollment through July 31, 2018. Contact us at PsyAdmissions@cnsu.edu for more information, or apply online at http://psychology.cnsu.edu/admissions
