Cambodian Center for Cham Studies Details
The Cambodian Center for Cham Studies project mission is to create a physical center for the learning and preservation of Cham language and cultural heritage for future generations. Begun in 2009, the project set out to first establish a barometer of interest from various Cham groups that would benefit from a center and how a participatory design process could render a culturally driven and functional facility. Since the end of 2011 a Cham language curriculum has been developed by EMC with the support of the US embassy and is currently being taught in pilot programs. With the spread and evolution of this curriculum the design and construction of a physical center will become the next natural step.
