Retail - Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
There are over 30 bicycle shops in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Only one is owned by a woman and I'd like to see more inclusive spaces for underserved communities. Families walking into a bike shop are often overwhelmed by either the wide scope of the product or the overall experience. A trusted neighborhood mechanic that plainly explains what you need to get out to ride while creating an informed shopping experience is something that my Northside neighborhood is desperately lacking.Community access to repair services is a core belief of Camden Cycles, in our community, a flat tire could be the end of the season for someone around here. With the median income in the Camden area at $53,000 and with 34 percent of the population being under 18, Camden Cycles will be filling a very real need for affordable good quality bicycles and accessories. Many people in this area also face transportation challenges and with the drop off/pick up mobile repair services we can meet the needs of our customers without them even having to leave their own home. For those customers who would prefer to shop in person, I will provide a selection of specially curated vintage and refurbished bikes as well as new bicycles as soon as we open our brick and mortar. I skillfully blend the ease of digital shopping with the unreplaceable in person shopping experience. Every customer who walks through the door will be welcomed into the cycling community, no matter how little or how much they know about bikes.
