Camie is a platform that matches people who need photos of great quality with amateur photographers who take and provide more cost-effective photos than purchasing stock or professional services. We endeavor to keep every precious memory alive and embrace authenticity, on and off-camera.We are a social enterprise started by NYU students. We have all experienced the magic of photography, both as photo takers and models. A nice portrait photo could document a warm family reunion, boost a young girl's self-esteem, record an unforgettable birthday, or open a door to new job opportunities. Our team recognizes the value of portraits, but we also know that the cost of hiring a professional photographer could be too burdensome for a lot of people, especially lower-income underrepresented minority communities. In the meantime, as amateur photographers ourselves, our team noticed a common problem shared by most amateur portrait photographers is that it can be hard to find models. Noting the unmet need on both sides, our team decided to build a platform that bridges the gap between amateur photographers and people wanting photography services.
