Recreational Facilities & Services - Sweden, Maine, United States
Tapawingo is a girls sleepaway camp founded in 1919 and located on Keyes Pond in the White Mountain region of Maine. Tapawingo means "place of joy" and lives up to its name by being a warm and wonderful place for girls to become leaders, true friends and most of all, themselves. Through its small intimate community, beautiful natural environment, athletic instruction, outdoor adventures, arts program, color war competition, traditional ceremonies, singing, leadership opportunities, and tons of encouragement and support, the goal is to send every girl home with new friends, new skills and greater sense of herself. Tapawingo truly is a summer family and a "Place of Joy."
