CampusSafe is a mobile security application running on a student’s Android or iOS device on campus. CampusSafe has three main objectives: inform, report and assist. CampusSafe informs users of important phone numbers, safety tips and additional information. CampusSafe reports the need for jumpstarts, noise complaints and the like. Finally, CampusSafe assists users in need by offering a virtual bluelight that will report the user’s location, contact details and information to Public Safety dispatchers while automatically connecting them via telephone or text message. Besides this front end application, CampusSafe leverages a server side back-end to create a “reports dashboard” for Public Safety dispatchers to clearly understand, take action on and track reports.
